Lt. Col. Adam Czekanski

Lieutenant Colonel Adam Czekanski was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 1998 after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural and Biological Engineering (Water Systems Concentration) from Cornell University. He later earned a Master of Science degree in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering from the University of Texas in 2007.  His military education and schooling include the Army Engineer Officer Basic and Captains Career Courses, and the Army Command and General Staff College.  He is a registered Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia and a certified Project Management Professional. 

Lieutenant Colonel Czekanski’s previous assignments include serving as the Operations Officer for the South Pacific Division of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE); Deputy District Commander of the San Francisco District (USACE); Battalion Operations Officer and Battalion Executive Officer for the 4th Special Troops Battalion, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, Colorado; Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography and Environmental Engineering at the United States Military Academy at West Point; Company Commander in the 44th Engineer Battalion at Camp Howze, Korea; and Combat Engineer Platoon Leader, Equipment Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, Battalion Maintenance Officer and Assistant Division Engineer Liaison Officer with the 41st Engineer Battalion at Fort Drum, NY.  His deployments include two tours in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (2002, 2012) and one tour in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (2004-2005). 

Lieutenant Colonel Czekanski’s military awards and decorations include the Soldier’s Medal, the Bronze Star Medal (three awards), the Purple Heart, the Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), the Army Commendation Medal (two awards), the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Army Achievement Medal (two awards), the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the NATO Medal, the Ranger Tab, the Sapper Tab, the Combat Action Badge, the Parachutist Badge, and the Air Assault Badge. 

Lieutenant Colonel Czekanski is a native of Sheridan, NY and is married to the former Wendi Lynn.  They have a daughter, Annabelle, and a son, Nicholas.
