Inspecting Mount Morris Dam
for the first time anyone can remember, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Buffalo District constructed a dirt coffer dam to divert the Genesee River through three open gates while they performed inspections inside six de-watered conduits, August 26, 2013. Conduits are the tunnels beneath the dam through which the river passes. For this inspection, we were interested in the condition of the concrete conduits, the steel gates and all associated components.
