(Left to Right: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District Commander LTC Karl Jansen,Congressmen Reed's representative Jacquelyn Chiarot, Village of Fredonia Mayor Steve Keefe, and State Assemblyman Andrew Goodell) The contract, awarded to Strock Enterprises LTD, is for construction of a trench-fill revetment, along approximately 800 feet of the creek’s left bank, parallel to the main sewer line. The revetment is constructed by first digging a ditch along the creek, filling it with a combination of steel mesh and rip rap, and then back filling and covering the ditch. As the shore erodes with time, the rip rap with fall into place and create a natural protected creek bank.
