The northbound Black Rock Channel within the USACE built and operated Black Rock Lock in Buffalo, New York, December 3, 2021. The lock channel provide safe passage for vessels between Buffalo Harbor and Tonawanda Harbor around the reefs, rapids and fast currents of the upstream portion of the Niagara River, and are part of the Great Lakes Navigation System.
