The
President’s Budget for fiscal year 2017 (FY17) includes more than $4.620 billion
in discretionary funding for the Civil Works program of the U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers, USACE, (see release at: Corps of Engineers, Headquarters Website – www.usace.army.mil) with more than $37 million for
Buffalo District projects.
The
Civil Works budget funds the operation and maintenance program, which includes
the maintenance of federal shipping channels within the Buffalo District’s area
of responsibility, maintenance of federal navigation structures, operation and
maintenance of the Black Rock Lock, and operation and maintenance of Mount
Morris Dam. Also included in the
President’s Budget is money for the Formerly Utilized Remedial Action Program
(FUSRAP).
The
FY17 funding will be distributed among the operation and maintenance projects
