  • Joslyn Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program Site

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Buffalo District is pleased to announce the award of a remedial investigation contract for the former Joslyn Manufacturing and Supply Company located in Fort Wayne, Indiana under the authority of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program (FUSRAP). The remedial investigation contract was awarded to Plexus Scientific Corporation of Alexandria, Virginia.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District awarded a $5.9 million contract to Kososing Construction out of Cheboygan, Michigan, Aug. 27 to repair a damaged portion of the Cleveland Harbor West Breakwater in Cleveland, Ohio.
  • FCSA signing ceremony planned at Old Fort Niagara

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District and the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation will host a Feasibility Cost Sharing Agreement signing ceremony, Friday, September 20, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Old Fort Niagara, GPS Location: 102 Morrow Plaza, Youngstown, NY 14174. The ceremony will take place in front of the French Castle.
  • Travel advisory, ground breaking planned as Athol Springs project begins

    Beginning on Wednesday, September 18, NY Route 5 westbound (outbound) will be reduced to one lane between Big Tree Road and Seabreeze Avenue, to begin work on the Athol Springs project, and is scheduled to remain in place for the remainder of the 2019 construction season.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District has completed temporary measures to secure the west pier at Little Sodus Harbor, located in Fair Haven, New York on August 1, 2019.
  • Corps of Engineers awards contracts for Maumee Bay and Maumee River dredging

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District has awarded a $2.122 million contract to conduct dredging of the federal navigation channel in Maumee Bay, and a $787,000 contract for the Maumee River dredging to occur during 2019, located along Lake Erie in Toledo Harbor, in the City of Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio.
  • USACE Buffalo District begins repairs to the Buffalo south breakwater

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District began repairs to 625 feet out of the 1,000 feet of critical repair area of the Buffalo south breakwater located in the Buffalo Harbor, in the City of Buffalo, Erie County, New York on July 26, 2019. Site work is expected to start in 2019 with anticipated completion in 2020.
