    Buffalo District partnered with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Raystown Lake​ and students from Juniata College​ to conduct a lake wide aquatic plant survey with emphasis on hydrilla (hydrilla verticillata), an invasive aquatic plant in early October 2018.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District has a highly skilled workforce that has been completing hydrilla surveys and herbicidal treatments in multiple locations since 2012 when hydrilla was initially found in the Finger Lakes region and the Erie Canal in Western New York (WNY).

    Army Corps of Engineers Buffalo District Commander shows leadership by engaging students

    The Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District Commander Lt. Col. Adam Czekanski visited his alma mater, Silver Creek Central School in June. The visit was part of his ongoing commitment to community outreach with the purpose of showing what the Buffalo District can do to help positively impact local villages, towns and cities within its footprint.
