Ridge Road Septic System Abatement Project receives planning assistance from USACE

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Buffalo District has assessed the environmental impacts of the Ridge Road Septic System Abatement/Sanitary Sewer Construction Project, City of Parma, Ohio and has concluded that no areas of environmental controversy are evident, all applicable and relevant environmental protection measures will be met, and implementation of the project will be completed in an environmentally sound and sustainable manner.

The City of Parma has requested the assistance of the USACE, Buffalo District under Section 594, Ohio Environmental Infrastructure Program, authorized by the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 1999.

"The City of Parma has requested reimbursement for the design and construction of septic system abatement and sanitary sewer construction," said Frank O'Connor, USACE Buffalo District project manager. "The purpose of the project is to halt discharges of untreated and partially treated sewage into the environment."

Under the Section 594 program the USACE proposes to contribute 75 percent of design and construction costs of the proposed Ridge Road Septic System Abatement/Sanitary Sewer Construction Project.
