Demolition of Linde FUSRAP Site Building 30 Complete

TONAWANDA – Demolition of Building 30 at the Linde Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program Site was completed on September 19.

The structural demolition of Building 30 began with the take down of the building’s North Bay on September 5. The building debris will be sorted, segregated and sampled to determine the appropriate disposal facility. Once this is determined, material will be shipped off site to out-of-state disposal facilities.

Previous FUSRAP remediation activities at the site include the decontamination of Building 31 and Building 14, demolition of Building 38, and removal of approximately 3,500 cubic yards of low-level radioactively contaminated soil.
