Deputy District Commander Maj. Michael A. Busby made time today to read to a class of 4th graders at the Charter School for Applied Technologies in Buffalo, New York, as part of the “Celebration of Reading.”

Busby chose the book, "I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban," as a vehicle to talk to the students about bullying. “I love getting out into the community to meet with young students,” Busby said. “It not only gives me the opportunity to interact with the next generation of American citizens, but also to talk about the great work the Corps of Engineers does and careers in STEM. You never know what impact you can have. Maybe one of those kids will grow up to be the next Chief of Engineers."
