Volunteers from the Arc of Livingston-Wyoming help at Mount Morris Dam
Volunteers from the Arc of Livingston-Wyoming, a not-for profit organization, efforts were recognized with cake, ice-cream and certificates of appreciation for each group, April 25, 2013. The Arc “Seniors” provided baked goods for refreshments at the Winter Lecture Series while Arc “Day-hab” assisted with grounds cleaning and mopping the visitor center following each lecture, and program promotion (flyer distribution and stuffing letters for mail-outs). Together, they contributed 270 volunteer hours, which is valued at $5,978. More importantly, this mutually beneficial partnership supplies welcome, skill-developing opportunities for Arc while providing important volunteer services to USACE. Their contributions directly contributed to the record breaking attendance (1,258 ppl) during this year’s 12-week Winter Lecture Series. Mount Morris dam has enhanced its partnership with Arc over the last couple of years, thanks mostly to the efforts of Juliana Smith, Mount Morris Dam volunteer coordinator.
