Emerald shiner
As part of the Niagara River Emerald Shiner Study, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District team members were in the Black Rock Channel catching, sizing, and evaluating emerald shiners at various locations, May 6, 2015. This project will focus on improving habitat connectivity for the Emerald Shiner between the Niagara River and Lake Erie, with a focus on the uppermost two miles in the Niagara River Area of Concern. The Scope of Work for this project will assist in addressing the Degradation of Fish and Wildlife Populations and Loss of Fish and Wildlife Habitat Beneficial Use Impairments, as defined in the Niagara River Remedial Action Plan.
