USACE Buffalo District begins final remediation of the Lake Ontario Ordnance Works Formerly Utilized Defense Site

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District, is excited to begin the final remedial action to be conducted at the Lake Ontario Ordnance Works (LOOW) Formerly Utilized Defense Site, located in Niagara County, New York on July 8th 2019.  Site work is expected to finish in Late August 2019, with expected construction completion in September 2019.

"The Corps is bringing a wide range of technical experience together behind the Lake Ontario Ordnance Works remediation to initiate the final phases of this project as efficiently and safely as possible," said Brent Laspada, LOOW Site Project Manager. "The project has been designed, and is being overseen by Buffalo District's technical experts with protection of human health and the environment as the top priority."
