This February, in recognition of Black History Month, Buffalo District sponsored an art contest with the theme, "How Does Black History Month Inspire You?"

Students in grades K, 1 and 2 from Buffalo Public School #76, Herman Badillo Bilingual Academy, expressed this theme through their beautiful art work.  Team Buffalo cast their votes and the tally was validated by EEO Officer Judy Phillips.

On February 28, Maj. Michael A. Busby, deputy district commander, visited School #76 and presented the winner in each grade with a certificate, ribbon, sticker and their framed art work.  Every student who participated also received a coloring book.

“In reality, every student who participated was a winner,” said teacher Ashley Kornacki.
