    In support of the Corps STEM initiative, four Buffalo District team members put on a "Flash Training" event for teachers of Mullen Elementary School, Tonawanda, NY, April 18, 2013. The four science activities demonstrated were: Flower Pressing, Wetlands Demonstration, Making Silly Putty and What is a Glacier.

    Flash Training: Train the Teachers

    There’s an old Chinese proverb, “give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” This was the idea behind the Buffalo District’s “Flash Training” for the teachers of Mullen Elementary School, Tonawanda, NY, on Thursday April 18, 2013.
  • Congratulation to the first place winners from Buffalo Public School 195, City Honors, in the "March Movie Madness Competition" sponsored by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District. The students were invited to the District to have pizza with the District Commander LTC Owen Beaudoin and talk about their movie, what they have learned and to receive recognition for their outstanding video, March 27, 2013.

    The students from Buffalo’s City Honors High School received an award from the Buffalo District commander for placing first in the district-sponsored “March Movie Madness Competition," part of the district’s “Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics” (STEM) outreach program.
